It is Okay not to be Okay

Today was one of those days……

I finished a long workday,

but instead of feeling accomplished, I sat there thinking about everything that was not going the way I wanted it to. My mind started running through every delay, every disappointment, every goal I had not reached yet, and every part of my business that still did not look the way I imagined it would.

I felt like crying.

But then another thought came in:

What is crying going to solve?

So, like many of us do, I considered pushing the feeling aside and continuing to work.

Keep going.

Stay productive.

Do not slow down.

Do not fall apart.

But the truth is, not every emotion needs to solve a problem in order to deserve space.

Sometimes crying is not about fixing the business, changing the numbers, or making the plan work. Sometimes it is simply your body releasing the pressure you have been carrying for too long.

As business owners, creatives, professionals, parents, students, and people with responsibilities, we often convince ourselves that being strong means constantly moving forward. We treat rest like a reward and emotions like interruptions.

But strength is not always pushing through.

Sometimes strength is admitting that you are tired……

Sometimes strength is saying, “I am overwhelmed.”

Sometimes strength is allowing yourself to pause before the pressure turns into burnout.

It is okay to care deeply about your business and still feel discouraged by it.

It is okay to believe in your vision and still question yourself sometimes.

It is okay to be grateful for your progress while also feeling disappointed that you are not where you thought you would be.

Two things can be true at once:

you can be proud of yourself and still be struggling.

Building something meaningful can be emotionally exhausting. There are moments when the vision feels exciting, and there are moments when the distance between where you are and where you want to be feels unbearable.

In those moments, you do not always need another strategy……

You may need rest.

You may need silence.

You may need to cry.

You may need to remind yourself that one difficult day does not mean your dream is failing.

Your business does not need to become successful overnight.

You do not need to have every answer today.

You do not need to punish yourself into productivity.

Pause and ask yourself:

What is actually going wrong?

What am I afraid will happen?

What is outside of my control right now?

What is one small action I can take tomorrow?

Then give yourself permission to stop for the night.

Resting does not mean you have given up. Feeling emotional does not mean you are weak. Slowing down does not erase your progress.

You are still capable.

You are still building.

You are still becoming the person who can carry the vision you have been given.

Tonight, you may not feel okay.

And that is okay too.

I needed to read this today. We try to be strong everyday but sometimes we should give ourselves grace, pause and take a moment to breathe.
