The Push-Up Effect

I’ve always been an athlete.

I grew up on the field — soccer in high school, then took it to the next level in college. Training, discipline, structure… that was becoming my norm. Movement has always been a part of who I am.

Then COVID hit.

No gyms. No teams. No schedule.

Just me… figuring it out.

I started simple — push-ups, jumping rope, and a little running here and there. But if I’m being honest… I never really fell in love with running.

Push-ups though? That was different.

That’s where everything changed.

Day by day, rep by rep, I started seeing real results — my arms getting more defined, stronger, more controlled. Not just physically, but mentally too. There was something about getting on the ground and pushing through those reps that built a different kind of discipline.

It wasn’t complicated. It wasn’t fancy.

It was just consistency.

And that’s what people overlook.

You don’t need a full gym.

You don’t need perfect conditions.

You don’t need to overthink it.

Push-ups alone can be a game changer.

And now, whenever people ask me where to start… I always recommend push-ups.

Not because they’re easy — but because they work.

I’ve even done a few “push-ups a day” challenges myself. Some days it was 50, some days 100, and some days it was just doing something no matter how I felt. What I noticed wasn’t just physical progress — it was momentum. Once you start showing up daily, everything else starts to fall in line.

Your workouts improve.

Your mindset sharpens.

Your confidence builds.

It becomes less about motivation and more about identity.

You become someone who shows up.

That’s the real transformation.

Push-ups don’t just build your chest or arms — they build discipline. They teach you how to stay consistent when no one is watching. They prove that small, daily effort can create real, visible change.

So if you’re trying to get back into fitness, or you feel stuck, or you’re waiting for the “perfect plan”…

Start with push-ups.

20 a day.

50 a day.

100 a day.

It doesn’t matter where you start — it matters that you start.

Because one simple habit, done daily, can change everything.

That’s the Push-Up Effect.

No lies told, my friends and I started holding each other accountable by doing pushup check ins, we started with 50 a day and that transformed to doing 100 a day no matter how we are feeling. I started to see the definition in my arms as well as other people. Push ups are definitely a great starting point, highly recommend!
